Sometimes a non-custodial parent wants to pick a child up from daycare when a weekend visitation is set up.
Do copies of permission slips for this have to be filed with the board that controls daycare centers, or is it enough to have the permission slips on file at the daycare center or home? |

I to would love to know the answer to this question. I would think that it would be your responsibility to check this and have it on file at the daycare but am not to sure if it has to be filed elsewhere.

It might depend on the non-custodial parent's status with child protective services, and whether visitation is supposed to be supervised.
I'd hope that a back up copy of any orders or permissions would be held by child protective services. |

You could be forced to wait for the custodial parent to get around to dropping paperwork off if the governing board doesn't carry pertinent information. This could lead to a dangerous situation if the non-custodial parent shows up and tries to assert themselves! |

A friend of mine went through a difficult situation with anon-custodial mother who insisted that picking up her children was fine with the custodial parent. The kids were even happy to see her!
The parents ended up withdrawing the children from the daycare because the non-custodial parent wasn't allowed to take the children. The situation was unfair, all around. No permission slip had been filled out, and the custodial parent hadn't even mentioned the other parent when the kids were signed up. In the end, having the two kids in the daycare home wasn't worth the hassle. |

I bet there are a lot of parents around who wish someone else would pay for their child's field trips! |
