Default Sick children

How do you tackle the prblem of kids who do not feel well while in the daycare? Is there a separate space you have for them or do you ask the parents to come and take the child home?

It really depends on what has made the child ill.

Colds and minor viruses usually go unnoticed IF a child is recovering from a serious illness, and doesn't go to school for part of the day, as separate area might be set up for them to get extra rest.

Kids that are sick with chicken pox or anything that carries the same kind of "punch" are sent home by most daycare providers in my area, just like they would be in elementary school.

This is why it is really important that all the daycare children have their vaccinations.

Most people think about other children at schools getting ill when they think of immunizations, but younger children can get seriously ill when exposed because they aren't old enough to have had all of their shots!
