Default When to open?

Hello all!

I am a former elementary teacher and have decided that I am ready to venture into the land of owning my own daycare/preschool/afterschool care. I have one small issue though - I don't know when to open. I have accepted a 3 month sub position at a local school. I will probably have another available for Jan-Mar. So, my choices of opening at November, not accept the other job and open in January, open in April, or wait until June. I thought it would be best to open in June. My husband wants me to open earlier. However, I am afraid that parents are already established in their children's care and I would not be able to fill the spaces and make any money to run on. Does anyone have any advice on this subject? Has anyone opened child care in any month other than summer or beginning of school? How did that work out? As a parent, would that be "uninviting" to have an opening day in November/January/April?

Thanks!

If it was me I would choose to open in April. Parents usually start looking about that time for summer care for their children. I know November and January are hard times in my area so I wouldn't open at those times.
