Default Advertising Ideas please

Hi fellow providers! My name is Lucy and have had a daycare for 24 plus years. Does anyone have any ideas that I can use to advertise my business to new parents looking for child care. I am going to a provider/parent fair and need some ideas on things I could hand out to the parents that would catch their eye and they would consider enrolling their child with me. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks

the first thing you could do is to promote your experience...24 years is a lot of time and parent would automatically want a person who knows the thick and thin of the trade for such a long time....and one they are sure will take good care of their kids....so a poster that maybe highlights this point would be good.

Welcome to OwnADaycare.com Lucy!

You could advertise your daycare in our directory for free - signup here:
Signup & List Your Daycare - OwnADaycare.com

Also Craigslist and similar sites to Craigslist are another great way to find local parents who are interested in your services!

Word of mouth is best, tell your friends and family to spread the word.

Also if you go to VistaPrint.com you could get some cheap flyers/postcards to advertise your new daycare and take them to local businesses and ask them if they can put your flyers/postcards in their breakroom. Think of the type of people who will need your services, most likely local working moms and dads - get them right at their place of work!

Good luck with your new business and thanks for joining the forums!

Loren

For an offline advertisement, you could make a leaflet and then have to someone to distribute it on shopping malls.

Is the "Welcome Wagon" still active in your area? Long ago, Welcome Wagon sent a lady to your door when you moved into a new neighborhood, now, I think the same company sends ads and offers by mail.

If there is a Welcome Wagon for your area, it might be a good tool for advertising your daycare services.

I believe that it depends on each place. I am not even familiar with that “welcome Wagon” company.

It's an old concept and might have been phased out in many areas of our country.

If you drive most places, one of those magnetic signs might be a good way to get your information noticed.

Just be sure you never drive the car, magnet on, while you aren't looking your best!

Yeah there is Craigslist, but their are a lot of people who are in competition on there and they will write some mean rude things. I'm planning on NOT using Craigslist for a while.

craig list has actually become so overpopulated that sometimes you don't even feel like scrolling so many of the same looking ads...I would not suggest that unless you have a really brilliant phrase to catch the attention....
