If you have the budget then I would advise you to go with ppc advertising or eBay. They are most highly effective form of advertisement.

When my friend was starting out and had no budget, she put up fliers in the local children's libraries.

Hello,
Im new so not sure when this was posted - sorry didnt see the date just the cry for help

I would suggest business cards - I made my own which I think looks better - shows you put time & effort into your business & most parents think ( or so I have been told) that if your putting this much time into your business cards ( care) shows how much does she would care about/for your children - and that would be ALOT!! -

Also flyers with maybe a little something like animal crackers/Sugar Free lollies - in a baggie or decorative baggie - if its going to be a daycare *expo* or such, then there's bound to be kids with them (?) that little touch could mean the difference

just a few ideas
hope this helps and finds you in enough time OR you can use for another time

For low-cost advertising, you might also ask if you could leave flyers in local toy stores, and grocery stores usually have bulletin boards where you can pin notices.

You could post them at the laundromats in the area. Bulletin boards are another great way to advertise.

I think the idea of buletin boards is really nice...especiallywhen there are someoene who are new to an area and are looking for a daycare for their child...they do keep a look out in the bulletin board section of the grocery stores....

I think one of the best ways to advertise in via the internet, possibly via paid advertising, or craigslist, which is Free.

Business cards are a great idea, and again that's something else that local toy stores or children's book stores may let you leave on their counters.

sometimes daycares also have these parties or magic shows they organise where all in the locality are invited...and it is a way to know more about the kids in the area...
